I have this theory

I think that if we simply ignore the fact that there is anything different in people that are of a different race/gender/sexual orientation/religion we will realize that there really isn’t anything different at all….

i guess what i’m trying to say is we need to stop pointing out things like that, making them a statistic, making them a “minority” because in the end, we’re all human.  We all have emotions, and we all need love.

most of these oddly apply to how atheists are often thought of and treated… not to be selfish like i’m the only person who is fucking internally tortured, and i might be slightly hypocritical in saying it…

But, the reason i have this blog is because there is literally nowhere else on the internet or in my life where i can be more open about how i feel, and the majority of my friends hardly know about it. I.E i can’t be open to the majority of my friends about my spiritual and political views.

the thing is, i am very aware in my life that i am walking on eggshells when talking to alot of people. 

I say things like “i’m a secular humanist,” or “im a secularist,” instead of “i’m an atheist” because of the way it comes off.

i choose my words very carefully because i know how they sound. 

it’s stupid, i know, but i prefer to have a social life and tread on eggshells then to be entirely open and hated by more people.

I hate how any fucking religion can be totally open like “i’m jewish”, “i’m christian”, “i’m into spirituality,”  but i can’t fucking do that because people are like *ghasp* “you don’t think there is ANY supernatural?  like, omg you must live a sad and lonely life!”
